In my move to a simpler life, I believe limiting phone usage is important and has the potential to directly impact my happiness. My current phone addiction does not fit in the lifestyle I am moving towards and I’m ready to take action.
A support group is a group of people in your life that are privy to your struggles, care needs, and will be there for you; even when your mental illness makes it difficult to be around. These people may not be your best friends or family and maybe they are. They don’t even have to know each other, although it helps if they do.
There is work, and there is busy work. Busy work is generally meaningless. If you say “I’m busy” instead of “I was working on signing a few contracts that will bring my office a lot of new business,” you devalue the work you are doing. If you say “I’m busy that day” instead of “I am spending time with family that day” you are devaluing the activity of being with family.
Fleeting happiness is still happiness, I just wish I had more of it when I was this age.
